Stage one. 48hours Tactical Urbanism. Painting the roof of the ECE, adding a crossing and also allowing kids to chalk safely on the site.

2 Weeks Tactical urbanism. Creating events such as pop up movie nights. This is a way to attract the younger generation. Kids have greater connections with the community and are more likely to bring larger numbers of people to the site. Parents, friends, family. Added fairy lights and also seating.

This site has a large number of events which happen over summer. The first move of change would be to create giant Jinga blocks and start making a chess board. During this trial time the Jinga will be moved around the site and surveyed allowing us to find the most popular space on the site.

Evolving a painting. Building up on painting over a period of time

Creating a site where people can come and remember their lost ones along with being able to show restoration of the sites historic value.

Creating a place which weaves the history of orchards which use you be on the site. Creating a sustainable environment for the community.
About
I am currently in my third year studying Landscape Architecture at Unitec. I am very interested in Tactical Urbanism and City ‘pop-up’ planning. I have been inspired by nature since a young age and have taken a keen interest in the landscape - particularly in horticulture. I am a very hard worker that is motivated by challenges and opportunities to further my experience in design. Collaborative work is a strength of mine but I am also comfortable working independently on projects. Through design, I enjoy solving issues and have a keen interest in ecological development and management. I carry myself with pride and approaches all tasks with an enthusiasm and determination.
My Philosophy
I see landscape as a space which you are connected to throughout your life. Each person relates to the landscape in a different way. Linking together man and nature along with the city and nature. I see the landscape as a spiritual thing being able to walk into a site and it feeling as though a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Throughout designing I wish to create spaces that seem sanctioned and have a meaning behind them rather than a landscape being a place that you walk through.

I see the landscape as a place where you are able to create connections between man and the nature. My philosophy of the landscape started with photography and the looking at plants and how they change and adapt over time. Also looking at the wider context of the landscape and how you are able to change and adapt a site as well as being able to change and adapt the landscape to a community needs. I wish to create sites that become a sanctuary for people through the use of plants.
